About The Event
In Menopause Yoga we associate Winter with menopause and Second Spring with your post menopause (when you no longer have a menstrual cycle). Spring is naturally the season of growth and renewal as we emerge from late Winter. But many women going through the menopause become stuck in the Wintering hibernation state and feel exhausted by fatigue - an extreme physical tiredness and a mental or spiritual weariness.
This is not surprising considering the events of the past two years that haave severely affected our nervous system and, as a result, our endocrine hormone balance.
This 3-hour workshop led by Petra Coveney - senior teacher, trainer, and author of 'Menopause Yoga - a Holistic Guide to Supporting Women Through Their Menopause Journey,' will give you the advice and guidance you need to boost your health and wellbeing, refind that ellusive energy, and practice a 90 minute Menopause Yoga session to help lift a low mood, stimulate your sluggish digestion, build bone density, cardio heart strength, resilience and alleviate brain fog.
Please note: Mrniopause Yoga is designed for all women and all body types.
You do not need to be experienced in yoga to join this workshop, but some knowledge of the basic Hatha yoga poses is helpful. Please let Petra know in advance if you have any injuries, conditions eg oesteopenia, osteoporosis, sliupped disc, dizziness, heart conditions, glaucoma or joint and muscle paisn such as frozen shoulder. Petra will offer you modifications to the practice.
Anxiety opr panic attacks are symptoms commonly experienced in the menopause. Please let Petra know if yoou have recently experienced these conditions so that she can give you some alternative breathing techniques.
This workshop will include:
1. a Women's Circle discussion (this is always confidential and not recorded).
2. Nutrition and natural remedy general guidance for boosting energy, bone and muscle strength and overcoming fatigue.
3. a 90 minute yoga practice that includes hatha poses, breathing techniques, mindfulness meditation, journal writing or self-reflection.
Attendees will receive a pdf handout in advance to print out at home and use as a workbook to write on during the workshop.
Menopause Yoga creates Safe & Supportive Spaces for women to breath taboos by talking about the menopause.
