Petra's style of yoga is specially tailored to helping people going through perimenopause to post menopause manage common symptoms.
In February, Petra is offering weekly classes at 8am-9.15am in the UK timezone which hjelp women manage symptoms such as lethargy, low mood (anhedonia) and the loss of muscle strength caused by declining oestrogen. Even if you are taking Hormone Rerplacement Therapy, you still need to focus on your physical health including muscle and bone strength.
These classes start with a welcoming introduction, and gentle movement to limber up and warm your muscles. This is followed by some dynamic movement to gently increase your heart rate, longer held yoga poses for core, legs and arm muscle strength. The practice ends with a restorative relaxation pose and a guided meditation or uplifting affirmation to help you start your day with a positive intention.
What you need:
1x yoga mat
1x blanket for the relaxation pose.
1x yoga strap, band or belt.
A yoga block/ brick or small cushion.
Optional Extra props:
Hand weights and a Pilates band.
Weighted eye bag for relaxation pose.
