Join Petra Coveney - founder of Menopause Yoga™ (2013) - the world’s first menopause specific yoga practice and positive approach to the menopause - for this special 3 hour workshop with 1 hour break.

This event is open to all experiencing or preparing for perimenopause or in the menopause.

Workshop Content:

  • Group Circle Welcome, Introductions & discussion.
  • What is the Menopause: a medical syndrome, hormone deficiency or a woman’s Second Spring?
  • How to manage symptoms: an overview of HRT, nutrition, herbal remedies, vitamins and mineral supplements, complimentary therapies.
  • 90-minute Menopause Yoga class that includes some yoga movement, breath work and meditation [beginners are welcome but some experience of yoga is advisable]
  • Closing circle
  • Takeaway handout sheet.
  • Photos with your consent.

About Petra Coveney

Petra Coveney is the founder of Menopause Yoga™ (2013) - the world’s first menopause specific yoga practice and positive approach to the menopause. She is a senior teacher and trainer and author of the teacher training book ‘Menopause Yoga – A Holistic Guide to Supporting Women on Their Menopause Journey’ published by Singing Dragon (2021) and is a member of the British Menopause Society. She works with Dr Louise Newson, and Harley Street specialist Dr Shahzadi Harper as well as menopause nutritionists, osteopaths, psychotherapists, herbalists, ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine experts to deliver courses for women world-wide.

Her 40-hour Teacher Training course is accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance Professionals and there are currently nearly 600 qualified MY teachers in 50 countries.

She runs both in-person and online teacher training courses, women’s workshops and Menopause Yoga classes.

Originally from London, Petra recently moved to Brighton to swim in the sea and walk her dog on the South Downs. She regularly visits Edinburgh to meet up with friends and a growing number of yoga teachers who trained with her in Menopause Yoga.

What is Menopause Yoga?

MY offers a toolkit of techniques to help alleviate some of the main symptoms and a positive approach that reframes the menopause as Second Spring - an empowering and reenergising stage of a woman’s life. Petra’s unique holistic course draws together western medical science and eastern wellbeing with the aim to Educate women about their menopause, Empower them with simple and accessible tools, and encourage them to Embrace this hormonal transition as an opportunity for better health and wellbeing. Her courses, workshops and classes include factual information about the biological causes of the menopause, stages, symptoms, and solutions that may include Hormone Replacement Therapy, nutrition, herbal remedies, vitamin supplements, complimentary therapies and counselling as well as practical yoga, meditation and breath work practices specially devised to alleviate symptoms.
