Menopause Yoga Teacher Training

 2021

Menopause Yoga Teacher Training 2020

Learn how to support women going through perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause on the UK's first Menopause Yoga & Wellbeing Teacher Training course.

"Menopause Yoga is unique in helping women to manage their menopause symptoms and their mindset."

This teacher training course is accredited by both the British Wheel of Yoga as a NEW Weekend Teacher Training, and by Yoga Alliance as a 40-hour training module. This is the ONLY course in the world to begin this level of accreditation and qualifies you, as a gold standard teacher, to lead group classes and workshops.

Petra Coveney created Menopause Yoga in 2011, after many years of research following her own experience of peri and post-menopause in her 40s, and the impact that this hormone imbalance can have on a woman’s body, mind and emotions. She was the first yoga teacher to become a member of the British Menopause Society for health practitioners and works with Dr Louise Newson and other doctors.

She began running workshops in 2013 and formally launched Menopause Yoga, followed by Teacher Training courses launched in 2019, at Dr Newson's world acclaimed Menopause & Wellbeing Centre. There are now over 300 qualified teachers in more than 10 countries all over the world. The first 11 courses were only open to women in a stage of the menopause, however, in 2021, the first course was opened to women teachers who are not personally in a stage of menopause.

Her ground-breaking training combines knowledge from both eastern and western traditions, medical science and complementary therapies and includes specially adapted yoga poses, breathing techniques and meditation to help women manage their menopause symptoms.  It is supported by both Menopause specialist GPs, and wellbeing experts specialising in osteopathy, nutrition, Ayurveda, Complimentary Therapies etc.,

The process of moving through perimenopause to post menopause can take anything from 5-15 years, so this really is a journey. We need to become attuned to the hormonal changes in our bodies, our minds and emotions. This embodied consciousness enables women to  respond to its changing needs, and adapt our yoga practice at each stage.

This empowering training is set within a positive framework that promotes menopause as an opportunity for self growth and insight. As MY teachers you will support women and help guide them towards an awareness of their inner wisdom.

Petra Coveney says:

"I created this  unique Menopause YogaTeacher Training course in response to the requests from women attending my workshops who said they wanted to practice menopause yoga where they lived, and teacher who said they wanted training to teach MY.

"This module aims to train more teachers to support more women across the UK who can benefit from the MY approach and content.

"My method is to Educate and Empower women to Embrace menopause as an opportunity to take a pause for self-study and learn what our changing body needs as we transition to this next stage in life.”
